Greg Bird is president and owner of Jetta Operating Company, Inc. headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. Greg founded the company in 1991.
After graduating from Texas A & M University in 1982 with a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering, Greg worked for Hunt Energy Corporation and then Cawley ,Gillespie & Associates, eventually becoming partner. He worked in areas of reservoir engineering, reservoir management and economic analysis.
Greg is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas and a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He also serves as a board member of several organizations including the Texas A&M University Petroleum Engineering Industry Board, TCU Energy Institute, Longhorn Council - Boy Scouts of America Foundation and the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. Greg is the 2010 -2012 president of the Longhorn Council, Boy Scouts of America and is the past president and a current member of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth. He is also a member of the Dallas Petroleum Club, Fort Worth Air Power Council and several professional organizations including the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Texas Oil & Gas Association and the Fort Worth Wildcatters. Additionally, he is involved in other community and philanthropic efforts through the Gregory A. and Laura E. Bird Foundation.
